Am I the only one that is always amazed by how fast a year can pass? It seems like every year is going by a little bit faster – maybe our parents were right after all… They always say times flies when you’re having fun (and that is sure, true), but, deep down, I’d have to say I am happy that 2019 is in sight.
I might say so every year (or at least the last two years), but it hasn’t quite been a quiet year for me. 2018 held a lot of highlights: I started a new job, (finally!) moved in with my boyfriend, spent a lovely holiday in Greece and enjoyed a weekend with my girlfriends. All of these were super lovely events, that I enjoyed to the fullest. Unfortunately, I wasn’t feeling too well this year and, in autumn, I finally was confronted with having to admit I am suffering from a burn-out. That brought along a lot to consider – besides a couple of physical complaints that gave me a hard time – since something clearly had to change.
I’m not quite the believer of ‘New Year, New Me‘-sayings, but, this time, I have feeling that it is closer to my heart than I might have thought
That brings me to why I am so excited for the new year. I’m not quite the believer of ‘New Year, New Me‘-sayings, but, this time, I have feeling that it is closer to my heart than I might have thought. I made a couple of (career) choices the previous couple of months that will (hopefully) give me a little more peace of mind in the new year and give me the chance to set my mind to what I actually like to do: write. Therefore, I love getting into blogging again and I will concentrate on discovering how to make writing not just my passion, but also my job. In other words: challenge accepted!
So, hereby: the coming year, I plan on investing more energy and time in myself and my peace of mind, to act on my passion(s) and give myself the time to feel what it is exactly that I want to do (even though I can already tell that it probably has to do with writing and my blog 😉 ). And you, do you promise to take good care of yourself this year?
